Worksite & traffic management coordination

This guide provides information on how to use the feature and the underlying business logic that makes it work.

A section in the worksite overview screen shows potential overlaps between your worksite or traffic management plans and other affected parties.

The overlap detection happens automatically as you populate your CAR or TMP and currently will summarise the overlaps between:

  • other worksite extents

  • other traffic management plan layouts & detours

  • public transport routes, stations & stops

How this feature helps you coordinate

For each overlap detected, summary information is provided including a link to the worksite and the applicant, meaning you can quickly contact who you need to and coordination your activities in the road space more efficiently.

You can make a comment in the notes section of your application of who you've contacted and the outcome of any coordination agreement, including uploading relevant files.

Advanced coordination module

With the support of Auckland Transport, we have also implemented an advanced module with this new feature. The module further enhances communication and decision making between parties and provides this transparently to the approval process.

The improved module enables notes, a status and documentation to be uploaded with each coordination decision, making it easier to agree coordination decisions for both parties, and for the RCA to review.

More on how the feature works

  • Overlap detection is triggered when dates or geometry information is saved.

  • An overlap is detected when:

    • a geometry across any worksite extent (polygon), layout & detour (line), public transport route (line), stations & stops (points) cross over

    • AND the respective date windows also cross over.

  • CARs and TMPs can exist in more than one state. Drafts, Submissions and Accepted CAR's and TMP's are incorporated in the overlap detection.

    • Those that have been declined are excluded.

    • Drafts will only be shown when they are overlapping another Published Draft, Submission or Accepted affected party.

  • Any resolutions, comments and attachments are carried forward through the process so that information won't get left behind.

  • Each party can provide their comment, status and attached files for a given overlap. The statues from each party are summarised to an overall status of:

    • Unresolved (red)

    • Partially resolved (orange)

    • Resolved (green)

The diagram below illustrates the different types that will be considered in the overlap detection
