August 2026 - Release Notes: Road Space Bookings (RSBs)

This product update provides a high-level overview over the new Road Space Bookings (RSB) feature.RSBs have been designed in collaboration with RCAs and selected applicant and TMP companies. The feature is currently being piloted in select regions.

Written by myWorksites

A Road Space Booking (RSB) lets you define the impacts and detours that come with the works for a specific section of road space, directly within a Traffic Management Plan (TMP). Over the past few months we've built this feature with more functionality still planned. Eventually, it will support and be available throughout the full TMP lifecycle — from the planning and submission stages to deploying, and on to reporting and multi-RCA support.

Benefits

TMPs with Road Space Bookings in the myWorksites system give you a clear, point-in-time record of what work is permitted on the road, a shared way to see what's happening today and what's coming next — supporting better coordination between everyone involved in the works, and real-time view of what is going on right now.

  • Understand what's on the road today and where there is scheduled activity for tomorrow, all in one place

  • Have clearer 3 Cs (Communication, Cooperation, Coordination) conversations — it's obvious who's doing what, where, when and how

  • Provide granularity in the scheduling detail to make different stages in the works visible: and, for example, separate unattended night works from daytime works with people present.

TMPs with Road Space Bookings

The functionality to create a TMP with a Road Space Booking is being piloted in some regions with selected Applicant companies. This pilot phase will soon be extended to other RCA Jurisdictions.

TMPs with Road Space Bookings capture the most important data of Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) impacts in a simpler, more user-friendly way.

RSB-TMPs can still be submitted to a single, or multiple RCAs, accepted as usual, and downloaded as PDF.
Access to RSBs follows the same permission model as the TMP itself — organisations added to a TMP's permissions can find and deploy its RSBs, even as a subcontractor.

More functionality will be added in due course. We will list these additions in the regular release notes for myWorksites.
