New to myWorksites?
Whether you're a private individual, a member of a club, or signing up to myWorksites as a professional in traffic management, we'll walk you through the account creation process.
Read on to learn about the must-does before you are ready to start creating applications.
What do I need to consider before creating an account?
All users in the myWorksites system are operating under an organisation. If you are a professional working in the traffic management space, this organisation is the company or utility company you are working for. For other users, this may be a club, an alliance or trust, or another non-public entity. Or you are signing up as a private individual.
Working for a company
If you're an employee of a construction company, utility firm, or contractor, you'll need to join your company's organisation on myWorksites. This gives you access to your company's projects and allows you to collaborate with colleagues. You'll either join an existing organisation or create a new one if you're the first from your company.
Working as a private individual
If you're a private individual doing your own work (like a homeowner doing driveway access work), you can create a personal organisation. This works the same way as a company organisation, but it's just for your individual projects.

The sign-up process is almost identical for both scenarios, but understanding which applies to you will help you make the right choices during registration.
How do I create my myWorksites account?
To create your account, visit the myWorksites website and click "Register account". You'll need to provide some personal details and enter an email address.
Once you complete the first data entry steps, you'll receive a confirmation email - click the link to verify your account.
In the account activation step, the myWorksites system will ask you to set your password, enter some personal details, such as your phone number, and ask whether you belong to an Organisation.

What if I'm signing up as a private individual?
The Private Individual setting is recommended for users who are doing private driveway work, are not collaborating as a team and are likely to be submitting this application as a one-off event.
If this is you, select "No, I'm a Private Individual" under the "Your Organisation" section on the account activation page. Once you have entered your details in the mandatory fields, the "Save user" button will be enabled in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
What if I don't know if my company has users in the myWorksites system?
No problem! Click into the "Organisation" and start typing the name of your company. It helps to not write the full name - but stop after the first couple of letters. The system will automatically look for matches on your typed entry and return all possible results. Scroll down the list to verify that your organisation is not listed before you add a new organisation.
Why is it important to sign up to the correct organisation?
Users who are operating under the same organisation can view and work on each others' applications.
While you can later be invited to another organisation, finding the right space right from the get go will allow you to get onto the system faster. And it also helps other users (like RCA users), to get in touch with you more easily.
What if I'm the first person from my company to sign up?
If you can't find your company in the search results, you can create a new organisation. Click on "Click here to add it" from the dropdown menu. A new window will pop-up and guide you through the process of adding a new organisation. Click on "Save" and then continue the registration process. Once you have provided all mandatory data, the "Save user" button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen will become available.
You'll automatically become the Organisation Administrator when you set up and add a new organisation to the myWorksites system.
This means you'll be responsible for managing other users from your company who might want to join later. Think about who in your organisation is best placed to action this. If this is not the time to have those conversations, you can adjust role permissions later on, too.
New organisation administrators have full access to the platform immediately after email verification.
Learn more about Organisation Administration
What if my company is already registered on myWorksites?
Great - you have found your organisation in the search field!
Select your organisation from the list and simply continue to complete your registration.
Your request will be sent to your company's Organisation Administrator(s) for approval. You'll receive an email notification once they've reviewed and approved your access.
Why do I need approval to join an organisation?
This approval process ensures that only legitimate employees can access your company's work and applications on myWorksites. It protects your organisation's project information and maintains security by preventing unauthorised access. Organisation Administrators verify that new users genuinely work for the company before granting access.
How long does it take to get approved for an account?
Account approval timing depends on your Organisation Administrator's availability. They are immediately notified of a "Pending user" by the system.
If you need urgent access, contact your Organisation Administrator directly to expedite the process.
How do I log in for the first time?
Once your account is verified and approved (if joining an existing organisation), visit the myWorksites website: https://manage.myworksites.co.nz/
Enter the email address you used in the account creation process and click "Next". Then enter your password you set in the earlier steps. After your first successful login, you'll be taken to your dashboard where you can start to explore the platform and create applications.
