NZ Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (NZGTTM) was published on 17 April 2023 and is replacing the Code of Practice to Temporary Traffic Management (CoPTTM).

The New Zealand Transport Agency ceased updating CoPTTM on 1 November 2024.

NZTA has announced it will transition all capital works and maintenance contracts to NZGTTM by mid-2025.

Transition Period

Most Road Controlling Authorities in NZ are likely to transition to NZGTTM in the near future. However, each RCA will have its own timeline for adopting NZGTTM.

While many RCA's are already on the transition path, some may take longer to adopt the new standard for a variety of operational and contractual reasons.

We recommend checking with your local RCA to see if they are ready to receive NZGTTM traffic management plans before submitting your first one. Try checking individual council websites for any updated local operating procedures or reach out to the council / RCA directly.

Does myWorksites support NZGTTM?

Yes, myWorksites allows you to submit either CoPTTM or NZGTTM based Traffic Management Plans.

When creating a new TMP you are now required to note whether you have designed the TMP under "CoPTTM" , "NZGTTM" or "Other". This allows RCA's to process your TMP appropriately.

myWorksites' collaboration features also allow parties to communicate with the RCA around specific risks and controls throughout the acceptance process.
